ZEIT.IO is a platform for the automatic billing of project times. Until now, ZEIT.IO was mainly used for time & material projects with hourly rates. ZEIT.IO can map up to four different purchase and sales rates per member in a project. This means that a freelancer in a project can have different purchase and sales rates for remote, on-site, and so on. The purchase rate is what the freelancer gets paid and the sales rate is what is billed to the customer.

In the IT and software industry, it is common to work with hourly rates. In the financial industry, on the other hand, it is common to work with daily rates. ZEIT.IO can now also map daily rates!

If you now create a new project, you can switch to daily budget in the budgets and enter a daily budget and an average daily sales rate for time recording. The EUR budget for time recording is then calculated from the two values.

If you create a standard supplier contract, there is now the option of a daily rate for compensation.

This means that two different daily rates can be agreed for remote and on-site assignments.
And at the project membership, two different daily sales rates can also be entered.

If you create a 1:1 project contract, which is a great simplification for the use case that you have exactly one consultant per project, then you can store the purchase and sales daily rates directly in one place.

If the supplier/freelancer has a contract in which a daily rate or several daily rates are agreed, then they can only enter daily rates for the project. In this case, the form for entering daily rates appears for the freelancer. On this form, all you have to do is click on the days on which you worked.

At least one dropdown and one comment field will appear for the days you clicked on. In the first dropdown you can then select whether you worked a whole day, half a day or just a quarter of a day. If several daily rates have been agreed, a second dropdown will also appear in which you can select whether you worked on-site or remotely on the selected day.
The days recorded in this way can then be saved. The whole thing is also described again in the official documentation.

The approval process works for daily rates in the same way as for hourly rates. The freelancer can apply for approval for the recorded days as usual, as described here. And the credit note procedure also works with daily rates in the same way as with hourly rates. A credit note is also issued for an approved timesheet. The number of PDs (person days) will then appear on the timesheet instead of hours. And the unit on the credit note will then be "PD" instead of "hrs.".

Auto-invoicing naturally also works with daily rates. In the outgoing invoice, the unit in this case is also "PD."

With ZEIT.IO you can now display both hourly rates and daily rates. And recently even fixed-price packages. All of this can be combined in any way you like in one project. This means that ZEIT.IO can be used universally.
