Skonto (Discount)

Robert Reiz Robert Reiz / 16. August 2021 / 07:47 UTC
A "Skonto" is a price reduction in the EU on the purchase price that the seller grants to the buyer, provided the buyer pays within a certain period of time.

Here's an example. Let's assume that we will invoice our customer for 21,500.00 EUR for the placement of a Java expert. We have agreed a payment term of 30 days with the customer. But now we could say that we give the customer a discount of 2% if he pays the invoice in the first 20 days. And we even give him a discount of 5% if he pays the bill in the first 10 days. This type of skonto (cash discount) is often granted if you want to receive the money faster.

In the billing module on ZEIT.IO, 2 different skontos/discounts can optionally be configured. There are two fields for this in the invoice processing mask. Marked in green below:

If both values are set, the following information appears on the PDF invoice, as shown below:

Skonto hint on ZEIT.IO invoice

ZEIT.IO calculates the absolute savings for the discount as well as the new total and also shows the date until which the discount applies. This means that the recipient does not have to calculate and think for a long time. All key data are already included on the invoice. This makes paying a lot easier for the recipient!

So you can easily configure one or two discounts on ZEIT.IO.
